This was my first visit to the Umhlanga branch. I decided to take my husband here for a Father's Day lunch. Needless to say, I already had high expectations from all the social media posts. Unfortunately, I was met with mediocre food and service. We went at 12:30 and there were maybe 4 tables occupied so I could not understand why the services was so slow and lacking. The hostess seated us and gave us menus, which we sat there browsing through whilst we waited to be greeted by a waiter, yet they were all around the restaurant doing their own things as if we were not sitting there unattended. Finally, a waiter came to the table, took our drinks and starter orders. This came after a while in dribs and drabs. Then the waiter takes the liberty of bringing us something we did not order, saying that what we asked for is not offered by this branch. Instead of asking me what I would like to substitute as I am the one paying for it....At this point I was already regretting coming here. The main meals were nothing to brag about and the prices are no joke so I expected to get that which I was paying for. I don't believe I would visit again unless it was on someone else's dime. I hope that this review is taken with a pinch of salt. Great customer service can make even a mediocre meal seem acceptable.
